OpenAI rolls out GPT-Live-1.1
On October 15, OpenAI began rolling out GPT-Live-1.1 for ChatGPT, Codex, and dots. The update adds 13 new voices and better performance in French, German, Hindi, Mexican Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and other non-English languages. OpenAI also says users should hear less of the familiar “checking…” pause, with more natural delegation and steerable voice behavior. It is rolling out to all users now; API access is coming soon. Grok Voice 3.0 leads speech-to-speech benchmarks
SpaceXSI (formerly xAI) released Grok Voice 3.0, a speech-to-speech model for its Voice Agent API. Independent testing by Artificial Analysis ranks it first on the Speech-to-Speech Index at 86.9, ahead of GPT-Live-1 (Astra, Medium) at 83.2 and Gemini 3.8 Live at 82.6. It scores 97% on Full Duplex Bench and reports first-audio latency under one second. Pricing stays at $0.08 per minute. (SpaceXSI, Artificial Analysis)
Google opens Deep Review to the public
On October 14, Google publicly launched Deep Review, an agentic system that checks technical documents for logic, claims, and grounding. It grew out of Google’s Paper Assistant Tool, which reviewed more than 16,000 conference manuscripts. Users get two free reviews per week; higher limits and API use need a Gemini API key.
