Five Numbers to Track in Your First 30 Days With an AI Voice Agent

Turning on an AI voice agent is the easy part. Here are the five numbers that tell you whether it is actually helping you sell, and what to do when one slips.

Turning on an AI voice agent is the easy part. The real question comes a few weeks later: is it helping you sell, or just making calls? These five numbers give you a straight answer.

1. Time to first call

Measure how long it takes from the moment a lead comes in to the moment the agent dials. This is the whole reason to automate follow-up, so watch it closely. If it creeps up, check your lead source connections first. A broken form or ad integration is the most common cause.

2. Contact rate

Out of every lead called, how many actually picked up and talked? A low contact rate usually points to calling hours, too few attempts, or a caller ID people don't recognize. Adjust one thing at a time so you know what worked.

3. Qualification rate

Of the people the agent reached, how many answered the key questions: what they need, when, and how they plan to pay? If calls connect but leads don't qualify, the script is probably asking too much too soon. Build rapport first, then ask.

4. Handoff rate and handoff speed

Count how many qualified leads were passed to a human closer, and how fast that person followed up. A great AI call means little if the buyer then waits two days for a real person. At Ozkra, the closer gets the full call summary so the buyer never has to repeat themselves.

5. Opt-outs and complaints

Track do-not-call requests and any negative feedback. A rising number is an early warning that the tone, timing, or number of attempts is off. Every opt-out should be honored right away, every time.

How to use these numbers

  • Review weekly, not daily. A single day is noise.
  • Listen to a handful of calls next to the numbers. The recordings tell you why a metric moved.
  • Change one variable at a time, like the opening line, calling window, or attempt limit.
  • Compare against your old process, not against perfection. The goal is more real conversations than you had before.

An AI voice agent should make your pipeline easier to read, not harder. If you want help setting up the calls and the scorecard, book a demo and we'll walk through it with your own leads.
