"It's Too Expensive": How an AI Voice Agent Handles Common Sales Objections
Objections aren't a dead end. Here's how to teach an AI voice agent to hear "too expensive" or "I need to think about it" and keep the conversation moving toward a closer.
Every sales call hits a wall at some point. "It's too expensive." "I need to talk to my partner." "Just send me something." Most small businesses lose deals right there, not because the buyer said no, but because nobody had a good answer ready.
An AI voice agent can handle those moments well, as long as you plan them ahead of time.
Acknowledge first, then ask
The worst response to an objection is an argument. A good agent repeats the concern back in plain words ("Totally fair, price matters") and then asks one question to understand it. Is the issue the total, the monthly payment, or timing? That one answer tells your team what to do next.
Give each objection a next step
Write down the five objections you hear most and decide what the agent offers for each:
- Price: mention payment or financing options and ask what monthly number would work.
- "I need to think about it": ask what's left to decide and offer to book a short call with a specialist.
- "Talk to my partner": offer a time when both can join.
- "Send me info": send it, and set a follow-up time before hanging up.
Know when to hand off
Some objections need a person. When a buyer is close but wants to negotiate, the agent should pass the call to a human closer with notes on what was said, so nobody asks the same questions twice. That handoff is the core of Ozkra: AI handles the first conversation, and a human closes.
Review and refine
Listen to calls where leads dropped off and update the agent's answers every week. Small wording changes add up to real revenue.
